**Please Note - Mary is no longer accepting new clients at this time**

Mary is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who has been working with families for the past 25 years.  Mary has had the opportunity to work with clients who have suffered from domestic abuse and have been both sexually and physically abused.  These life altering situations easily lead to poor self esteem and many times, depression.  As a family therapist in a  shelter , Mary has extensive knowledge of working with families who are experiencing crisis situations.  Mary has also provided individual therapy with children, adolescents and adults.  As a Middle school counselor, Mary had many opportunities to work with children to help them find ways to overcome ADD and become the focused student they were striving to be.

Mary's specialties include working with individuals who are terminally ill and their families.  Grief and loss can take a terrible toll on a person and therapy, at certain times in one’s life can be extremely comforting.  Counseling also helps people find directions towards learning new ways to resolve life’s stressors through changing the way one looks at life.  Mary's husband was a career military man which gives her great personal  insight into the hardships and loneliness the military family endures.  Trauma that is felt by the military person by what he/she has experienced or has seen, can easily affect the whole family.  There are coping skills one can learn to be helpful to their partner and children.

Mary uses a strength based approach in assisting my clients to achieve their best path to a more enriched life.  Changing Perspectives is an appropriate title for this newly formed Counseling Center as that is what we strive to accomplish with our clients.
